Strong creative, collaborative links will be forged between the Centre and many complementary organisations and individuals, to ensure that it is perfectly placed to enhance the very small number of other British institutions with significant stained glass resources or collections; the V&A and the William Morris Gallery in London, and important museums or centres in Birmingham, Ely and Sunderland.

...in learning and education

The centre will work closely with the Universities of York and Huddersfield (both with pioneering courses in fields closely allied to the work of the Centre), and other Yorkshire colleges and learning institutions, the magnificent resources of the Borthwick Institute and the King's Manor and Minster libraries. Regular contact with LEAs, teachers and lecturers will be designed to ensure the relevance of all the Centre's education work to appropriate curricula and courses of study.

...in training and skills

In addition to the flourishing community of artists in glass currently practising in the region, the Centre intends to work closely with York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship, the York Art Workers' Association, York Glaziers' Trust and the Minster, the Worshipful Company of Glaziers' and Painters of Glass and those who care for the many Yorkshire churches and other buildings containing matchless glass and examples of fine craftsmanship. Essential craft-based and training links will be forged with the Prince of Wales's educational and training initiatives and with local cultural industries.

...in understanding and appreciation

In delivering its work, the Centre will work closely with English Heritage, Yorkshire Forward, City of York Council, the County councils and other local authorities, the London Repository of Stained Glass, and with all those concerned with the promotion tourism, travel and heritage interpretation across the region.
